What hosting solutions does CyberZOL offer?
We offer basic, advanced, database and media hosting as listed on our plan comparison page (provide link).
What is the difference between Shared and co-located local hosting?
Shared has lower cost since multiple sites are hosted on the same system sharing an IP address.
With co-located you supply your own server and a specific IP address will be assigned to that server.
What must I do to host my website internationally?
CyberZOL will assist you through their partners to register for international hosting and search engines should you require the service. Domain Services
What domain name extensions are available?
In Zimbabwe we have .co.zw , .ac.zw , .org.zw , .gov.zw
Can I add more domains to my account?
Yes you can, these will be billed separately.
How do I register my domain name?
CyberZOL can do it on your behalf. Password and Accounts
How do I open an account with CyberZOL?
Fill in the online application and submit it.
Pay the setup charge and at least the 1 st quarter’s fee and the account will be opened.
You can also send your request to Sales
I have forgotten my password, how do I retrieve it?
Call or email CyberZOL with the original name used when the account was created . The password will be sent to the email address the website was registered with after the account has been verified.
Should passwords be in any format?
Yes secure passwords should include both numeric and alphabet characters Billing and Payments
How do I pay for my hosting or services rendered to me?
This can be done by cash or cheque at the CyberZOL offices.
You can also deposit in the following bank account detail (to be provided) and fax the stamped deposit slip to CyberZOL.
For other payment methods, please contact us directly.
When do I pay for the hosting?
You pay as soon as your site is ready to go up. This will help you achieve the most value from your money i.e. if you pay on the 1st and only begin using it on the 25th when your content is ready, you will have lost out on nearly a month since billing is by date and not by use.
Hosting space is usually created within 3hrs from payment and is usable normally from that point onwards.
Will I receive invoices and statements for my account?
Yes.
Can I make annual payments?
Yes, in fact that is the cheaper and encouraged method.
By paying annually, it is unaffected by price increases.
We also offer quarterly payments.
Do you have any discounts for multiple account holders?
Discounts are offered on application. Or where there are promotion codes given to customers and these are quoted on signup. Setup fees for additional domain names are waived. Technical

It’s housed in a secure, controlled environment in Harare.
Are upgrades available for hosting?
Yes they are available at any time for any plan. This is done by the changing to a higher plan.

Do you have any policies concerning content on websites you host?
There is certain content which is not permissible e.g. MP3, Video, Pornographic, Executable software and copyrighted material.
The upload of content such as MP3 and Video should be approved before hand.
Rich media such as Flash does not constitute disallowed material. What will CyberZOL do if my website has illegal content?
The website will be immediately suspended and the owner notified.
In the event that the content is deemed harmful to other websites/systems, it will be deleted without warning or, where possible, quarantined pending further investigation.
Any resultant damage and/or work involved in containing the content will be charged to the client. Security
Server Security
Many hosts will blindly claim to support a technology such as PHP, ASP, .NET etc without having any understanding of how they work. As a result their servers are usually insecure and any customer on the server can read/write/delete other customers files. Being Microsoft developers as well as hosts and because we specialise, we have a solid understanding of the technology and what we are doing with it, and as a result our servers are more secure. Every web site on our servers runs under its own Windows user account, which only has access to its own files and folders. This means other customers on the server cannot gain access to your files and folders using things like the File System Object via ASP, which is enabled on most hosts’ servers. We also disable all dangerous tags by default; such as any tag/function that allows you to read/write files. Any host that has these tags enabled by default is allowing you or any other customer to copy/edit/delete files anywhere on the server. This means your data is not secure and neither is the server.
